I recently bought 4 helium balloons in your shop. On arrival home I discovered that one was leaking and deflating quickly. On inspection it turned out that some of the edge seals were damaged.
I called the shop and asked how this can be handled, the first response from the shop assistance was that it was my fault that the balloon was pierced or that I did something to damage it.
I then returned the balloon to the shop and asked to have it replaced. Although the shop assistant eventually realised that it was a defective balloon I was treated as if it was my fault.
I received what I felt was condescending unfriendly customer service and no apologies were offered from either of the shop assistants for the inconvenience incurred.

Great selection of books however the staff were stood talking in front of half of them and I couldn't view 75% of them... no interaction with me at the till as they were too busy engaging in their own conversation. It's not hard to say hello!

I have an interest in all things art, and crafting. This shop is a cornucopia of supplies; easels, canvases, paper, paint. You name it they've got it in spades - plus a massive range of books encompassing a wide range of ages. All at very reasonable prices.
I am genuinely surprised that WH Smith can live alongside, they can't be much competition for The Works, I can't wait for them to open again..

The Works is one of my favourite stores, so was really pleased to see they've opened a store in Dunstable. Compared to the others in my area (Hemel, Aylesbury & Luton) this is the biggest, and is more spacious inside, meaning you can walk without fear of knocking over a pile of books, unlike Aylesbury!
You probably won't find any current best sellers here, but they have a really great selection of books for all ages, and very good prices! They also have a big choice of stationery items, arts & crafts, as well as small toys, puzzles & games.
At this time of year, it's great for present ideas, my OH especially likes all the Christmas romantic novels which are £2 or 3 for £5. But you'll also find the odd gadget, and lots of nice calendars, and hobby gift sets.
The staff in this branch seemed very happy & helpful, maybe that's because they haven't been open long!
A great addition to The Quadrant.
